Xbox 360 was first introduced in May 12, 2005 on MTV then would formally be announced in E3 2005. The Xbox 360 was released on November 22, 2005, in North America and in December 2005 for Europe and Japan.
​The Xbox 360 managed to launch in a total of 36 countries within 2005 having broken the previous record releases
Red Ring
Microsoft experienced one of the largest blows due to the the infamous "Red Ring of Death" which became such a large issue that it made it across national news and forced Xbox to extend warranties to consoles affected by this issue.
Ambition
The Xbox 360 era was filled with ambition, the ambition to be the leading console. Xbox 360 provided an advantage over the PlayStation 3 in the early days of the 6th Generation because Xbox offered an established list of exclusives meanwhile PlayStation was struggling with a lack of console exclusives and a depth to their launch library.
Kinect
The Xbox 360 tried to throw a curve ball at the Nintendo Wii market share with the release of it's Kinect Camera which was meant to allow players to play similarly to the Wii by standing and using the arms to do gestures which the Xbox would then recognize and comprehend for in game actions/
Legacy
The Xbox 360 goes down in history as the console that connected us all and made online gameplay mainstream along the PlayStation 3.
